Artificial Planting in Queensland’s Hospitality Spaces – Redcliffe RSL with BSPN Architecture

Key Info

Client: Redcliffe RSL / BSPN Architecture
Market Sector: Clubs & Hospitality
Project Classification: Moderate

The Vision

As part of the recent redevelopment of Redcliffe RSL, BSPN Architecture set out to design a venue that was contemporary, welcoming, and visually connected across its many hospitality zones. Greenery was identified as a key design element to soften the club’s modern finishes and bring vibrancy to its interiors.

Evergreen Walls was engaged to deliver a tailored artificial greenery solution that would provide the lush, natural aesthetic of live planting while meeting the practical requirements of a high-traffic hospitality venue.

The Process

Working from BSPN Architecture’s specified planting layout, Evergreen Walls supplied and installed artificial greenery across five core areas of the RSL: the reception, café, bistro, lounge, and kids’ play area.

To establish visual height and impact, large Fiddle Leaf and Bird of Paradise plants were placed as statement features. Mid-range species such as Calathea, Cordyline, and Philodendron were layered throughout the design to introduce texture and variation, while Leather Fern, mixed grasses, and Syngonium hanging bushes were used as fillers to complete a natural and cohesive look.

The project was delivered in two phases to align with client priorities. Phase one focused on the reception, where tall planters provided immediate impact above the counter. Phase two extended the greenery throughout the café, lounge, kids’ area, and bistro, ensuring design consistency across the venue.

The Result

The greenery installation has transformed Redcliffe RSL into a venue that feels lively, inviting, and cohesive. Each space — from reception to the café, bistro, lounge, and kids’ area — has been enhanced with layered planting that softens hard finishes, introduces texture and colour, and creates a consistent design language throughout the club.

By combining statement feature plants with mid-range foliage and natural fillers, the venue now offers a fresh, contemporary atmosphere that lasts year-round. The artificial greenery delivers all the impact of live planting without the challenges of irrigation, natural light, or ongoing upkeep, providing a durable and practical solution for a busy hospitality environment.
